When I was explaining my plan for this shop to my son and my husband - separate conversations so I was getting the honest response of both - the first question they asked me was “how will this work?” And I guessed they wouldn’t be the only ones, so this is what I told them, cleaned of all the umms, errs and pauses to gather thoughts.

You will also have to imagine wild Skye winds and the bleating of sheep as both conversations took place on walks and I didn’t think to record them. My head was full of dragons…

This is how it works:

• You purchase a dragon subscription and pay an initial £20

• I send you a welcome email and instructions on how to set up standing order

• I spend the next 12 months needle-felting your dragon

• You make another 11 payments of £20 a month

• Each month I send you an email detailing progress, as well as being filled with general chat and things that have caught my interest

• You will also receive a handwritten postcard from me every now and then, because proper post is nice

• At the end of the year, I send your finished dragon via recorded delivery and you cancel your standing order

There are no hidden postage and packing costs - I meet those myself. I also take you off the monthly email list (so you don’t feel spammed) and add you to the bi-monthly newsletter. You can unsubscribe from this at any time.

How does that sound? Unnecessarily complicated? The best thing since homebaked bread? A considerate and thoughtful way to get a piece of art made exactly and only for you?

Perfect. That was my intention.
