Dragons Make a Landscape Beautiful

How this Works

Purchase a subscription and, until the delivery of your final, sculpted dragon, you’ll receive a monthly email update from me. This will include dragon making progress, what I’ve been reading, listening to and planting.

At the end of the year, your dragon will be special deliveried to you with a final thank you note.

A note on shopping: when you purchase a subscription, you’ll be charged an initial payment of £20. You’ll then be sent details on how to set up a standing order for the remaining 11 payments, starting the following month.

There are no additional postage costs involved but you will need to cancel the standing order at the end of the 12 months.

About Me

My name is Tonia and I live (for the time being) in the pretty cathedral city of Worcester in the Midlands. My heart, however, belongs to ridged mountain views, vast skies and the wind blowing the haar inland. In other words, Scotland and the Hebrides.

I’ve got a professional background in museums but have long aimed for something that has meaning outside of four walls and a textbook.

I find inspiration in the modern and medieval worlds, in nature and literature, in art and people.

Time not spent making dragons is spent on my allotment, reading, exploring ancient sites and searching for fossils. Sometimes I find them.

Why I Work this Way

There are two key principles that structure the way Dragons Make…works:

  1. Treat Lightly

  2. Tread Fairly

Firstly, I believe art should leave as light a footprint on the Earth as possible. In practical terms, this means that almost every part of your dragon will be made from natural, ethically sourced materials, from the body to the heart. The only exception being the copper wire that give the wings structure, but alternatives are being sought.

Secondly, by running this as a subscription model, I hope that more people can invest in a piece of art that is meaningful to them. Often the large upfront cost is a barrier, so I’m trying to break that down, in my own small way. Doing it this way means you’ll have something that’s been made exclusively for you, and that has little impact on the environment. What’s not to love?
